Antoni Malinowski

Translucent Drawing, Antoni Malinowski’s public art commission for CB1, will be revealed this June. Hundreds of small glass inserts across the brickwork of the new student accommodation will respond to the changing light, with reflections and shadows that create a large subtle drawing on the surface of the building.

Antoni Malinowski trained as a painter. His site-specific projects are inspired by their architectural context, connecting architecture, location and spirit of place.

On 23rd June 2012 Antoni hosted Refractions and Reflections at Aid & Abet. Guest speakers across disciplines joined him in an open ended discussion about the physicality of place and the essence of spectral interactions as a source of inspiration. The salon will explore ideas from the ancient Greek atomic structures to phenomenology of place and the search for reciprocity with the architectural structures.

Speakers included

Antoni Malinowski, Yana Sistovari, Brian Hatton, Ivana Wingham and Adam Nathaniel Furman.
